Being the uncrowned king of short-form video entertainment, it’s not surprising that many people have already established their presence on TikTok, with some of us wanting to make it a full-time career.
As such, creating one or even multiple accounts is necessary to achieve that goal. But then, this error message stops you in your tracks, preventing you from taking further action.
As frustrating and annoying as this sounds, it turns out that this error is pretty common. Many TikTok users encounter this error all the time, but fortunately, there are ways to fix it.
In this article, I’ll discuss why you get this error, how to fix it, and how to avoid receiving it in the future. Keep reading.
What Does “You Are Visiting Our Service Too Frequently” Mean on TikTok?
The “You Are Visiting Our Service Too Frequently” message usually pops up when you try to access TikTok by logging in or signing up.
Once you get this error, you might have difficulty signing in to an existing account or creating a new one. Worst case scenario, you can’t even log in to your account for a period of time using the same phone or email.
-
Why am I getting this error?
Basically, this error message implies that TikTok blocks your IP address.
An Internet Protocol (IP) address is a string of numbers used to identify the device which is connected to a particular network. Your main IP address is used by apps such as TikTok to help them know several things, such as your geolocation. It can also tell them you’re using the same device to log in to different accounts.
There are four main reasons why you received this message. Let’s take a look at each of them.
-
You’ve Logged In and Out of Different Accounts Simultaneously
Repeatedly signing in and out and in again of different accounts using the same device can get you this error. If you received this error while doing so, it’s possible that TikTok may have mistaken you for a bot or an automated account created to spam other users.
As you may have already known, TikTok is strictly against spam and inauthentic engagement. Bots and fake accounts are the prime culprits for these activities, dishing out automated likes and comments to boost a user’s popularity.
Now, to prevent these activities, the TikTok app has set some security measures in place that combats these bots and fake accounts by actively seeking out suspicious activities done by users. And logging in and out of too many accounts within a short while could make TikTok think you are a bot, and hence, it blocks you from getting in further.

You’re Using Third-Party Tools to Access TikTok
Third-party apps such as emulators (sometimes VPNs) can obstruct you from logging in successfully to your TikTok account. As mentioned previously, TikTok will filter out any accounts they suspect of doing spammy activities.
Unfortunately, using an emulator to access your account can make TikTok suspicious since it’s a third-party tool.
Meanwhile, if you are using VPN and can’t log in to TikTok, it might be because the app currently bans the IP address the VPN service has given you.
-
You’re Tapping Too Fast
This one’s not very common, but it might be worth mentioning. If you tried to log in to your account several times and couldn’t get in, there’s a chance you will encounter this TikTok error message.
-
You Already Have Too Many Accounts on One Device
Having more than one account on TikTok is perfectly fine. But what happens if you have too many accounts logged in at once? If you try to log in to one account after another, then TikTok might show you this error. Again, this is also due to TikTok’s spam prevention measures.
-
You Just Happened to Experience a Weird Bug at the Wrong Time
Well, if you hadn’t done any of the above but still got this error, you might be confused as to why you did.
Unfortunately, this error sometimes just pops up for no apparent reason. It could be because of a glitch from TikTok’s end, in which it might have mistaken you for a spam account and blocked your IP address.
Don’t worry, though, since this is quite rare. Also, most of the time, the error resolves itself shortly after, and you will be able to access your TikTok account again.
However, if you still can’t get past your login screen, there are a few fixes you can try, which I will all explain below.
How to Fix the “Visiting Service Too Frequently” Error on TikTok
Still, seeing the same login screen after many attempts of logging in to TikTok? Here are a few solutions you can do that might work:
-
Close the App and Launch It Again
The easiest way to try and solve this problem is by leaving the app for a while, closing it, and then waiting for at least one minute before attempting to log in again. Closing and relaunching the app basically refreshes the page. You can also try to reboot your phone to see if this helps.
-
Reset Your Connection
Another way to address this issue is to reset your connection. There are two ways you can do that.
One is to disconnect your phone from the WiFi or mobile internet for a while and then reconnect it again.
Two is to reboot your modem and router. This method is preferable as many users have reported that rebooting their connection solved this problem. Furthermore, if your internet service provider (ISP) has a dynamic IP address system, you might be able to switch to a new IP address if the previous one was blocked.
Changing your public IP address might also help resolve this issue. For most mobile devices, this can be found through the Settings app. For PC users, go to the Network and Sharing Center of your computer’s Control Panel.
-
Switch to Another Device
Another easy way to escape the TikTok block is to use a different device. If you’re using a phone, switch to a desktop. And if you’re using the desktop version, switch to the TikTok mobile app this time.
You can also try logging in using a second phone if you have it. Alternatively, you can request a friend or family member to borrow their phones for a while if you need to log in to TikTok as soon as possible.
With a different device, you might be able to access your existing account or create a new one.
-
Switch to Another Network
You can also try changing the network you’re using. For example, turn it off and switch to your mobile data if you’re connected to WiFi. On the other hand, if you are using your mobile data, connect to WiFi.
Alternatively, if possible, you can also find another WiFi network to connect to.
-
Use VPN (or don’t)
VPNs are a great way to provide an extra layer of security and privacy to your browsing and can help resolve problems such as the “You Are Visiting Our Service Too Frequently” error on TikTok.
Now you know that this error is caused by TikTok blocking your IP address, then masking your main IP address is a good idea. In fact, by connecting to a VPN, you might be able to fix the “You Are Visiting Our Service Too Frequently” error because by then, you will be “using” a different IP address, and TikTok will let you in. VPNs can also help if you are in a country where TikTok is banned or have special restrictions for its users.
You can try searching for a free VPN service on the Play Store or App Store. There’s also another method you can do, which is to install a browser with a VPN service. Opera is one of the best browsers with this built-in function, so you can try logging into TikTok through it in the meantime.
On the other hand, if you’re already using VPN and you suspect this is why you can’t log in to TikTok, try disabling it for a while. Sometimes, the IP address given to you by your virtual private network stops you from signing in.
-
Update Your TikTok App
Apps aren’t perfect, which is why developers and companies constantly work to improve their services all the time. TikTok is no exception, so updating the app regularly is always recommended. You can do so by going to the Play Store (for Android users) or App Store (for iOS users).
However, if you have already updated the app and nothing changes, try uninstalling TikTok and reinstalling it to see if this solves the error.
-
Take a Break
Well, the easiest solution probably is just to wait it out. Don’t use the app for a few hours or even a whole day and then return to see if it works this time. TikTok will usually unblock your IP address in a matter of hours. For some users, taking a break from TikTok and logging in later solves this issue.
-
Send an Error Report
What if you’ve already done everything on this list and probably waited for days, but the same login screen still appears every time you try to sign in? Or maybe you really need to access your TikTok right away.
The only solution you have right now is to send a message to TikTok’s customer support. There are several ways to do this:
- Use the “Report a Problem” function – On the log-in page: Tap the question mark icon on the top right corner > Other > Need more help? and then write your report. Add relevant screenshots or videos to your report, and click “Submit.”
- Reach out to TikTok’s Twitter page – Click here to see TikTok Support’s Twitter account or DM @TikTokSupport.
- Visit the “Share your feedback” page on TikTok’s Help Center – Similar to reporting a problem via the mobile app, this will allow you to send a message to TikTok directly. However, this will more likely get you an audience with TikTok’s support team as most of the problems reported here are more serious, such as account bans.
How to Prevent the Error From Happening
Still, it’s better not to encounter this problem first, right? Here are a few tips to avoid the error message, “You Are Visiting Our Service Too Frequently” next time you log in:
-
Avoid using too many accounts.
While having multiple accounts can have several benefits, it has downsides, too. One of these is your IP address might get blocked, especially if TikTok finds out you’re using the same device for all these accounts. Try to limit the number of TikTok accounts logged in to your phone to up to 5.
-
Avoid “spammy” behaviors.
We all do this unintentionally: tapping too fast on the screen or logging in to multiple accounts simultaneously. Unfortunately, TikTok regards these activities as spammy, even if you didn’t intend to do so.
-
Don’t use an emulator if you can help it.
Emulators like Bluestacks are a fantastic way to play games that are only available to Android devices with the use of your PC. However, the same can’t be said with apps, especially TikTok. Moreover, using emulators to log in to TikTok isn’t as smooth as you think since the platform could sometimes prevent you from logging in or virtually doing anything on the app.
