Fortunately, logging out of Twitter is a pretty easy thing to do. Whether you’re using the Twitter app or the website on your preferred browser, I created this guide to help you sign out quickly. Plus, I included a step-by-step process if you want to log out of your account on all devices in one go. Let’s get started.
How to Log Out of Twitter on iOS
To log out of the Twitter mobile app on your iPhone or iPad, follow the steps below:
-
Step 1
Open the Twitter app on your iPhone or iPad.
-
Step 2
Find your profile icon on the top part of the screen, and tap it.
-
Step 3
On the menu, tap “Settings and privacy”.
-
Step 4
On the Settings page, tap “Account”.
-
Step 5
Tap “Log out”.
You now have been logged out of your Twitter account on your iOS device.
You can also remove your Twitter account from the device itself by going to your phone’s Settings > Twitter. Tap on your account, and choose “Delete”.
If you can’t use your iOS device to log out of your Twitter account, don’t worry. You can do that via any web browser using your desktop. To do this, you need to revoke access from Twitter. Follow these steps:
-
Step 1
Go to Twitter’s app and sessions settings page, and select Twitter for iPhone or Twitter for iPad.
-
Step 2
Click “Revoke access” to sign out of Twitter from an iOS device.
That’s it! Alternatively, you can also go to the “Sessions” page of the Twitter website to log out of your device or on all devices. For the full instruction, head over to the last section of this article.
How to Log Out of Your Twitter Account on Android
Logging out of your Twitter account on your Android device is also quite easy. All you have to do is follow these steps:
-
Step 1
Launch the Twitter app on your Android device.
-
Step 2
Tap your profile image which you can see in the top left corner of the home page. On other Android devices, you will see a hamburger menu icon (or what looked like three evenly spaced horizontal lines) in the top left corner.
-
Step 3
Select “Settings and privacy”.
-
Step 4
Choose “Your account”.
-
Step 5
Tap “Account information”.
-
Step 6
At bottom of this page, you will see the option to “Log out” in red text. Tap “Log out”.
And that’s it. Your account has been logged out of your Android mobile device.
How to Log Out of Twitter on Your Desktop
If you’re using Twitter on a desktop, do the following steps to log out of your account:
-
Step 1
Go to the Twitter website.
-
Step 2
You can see your username and profile icon at the bottom of the left sidebar. Click the three dots icon beside it.
-
Step 3
On the menu that will appear, click “Log out” to sign out of Twitter.
And you’re done! You now have logged out of your account on that Twitter browser.
Note, though, that if you have more than one account logged in on any of the devices I mentioned above, you have to sign out of them one by one. If you have multiple accounts, but only one to log out just one, you can let the others stay logged in if you wish.
Logging out of other devices
While you can’t log out multiple accounts all at once, you can sign out a single account across other different devices in one go. Before you log out of your Twitter using your desktop, you need to end other Twitter sessions. To log out of Twitter in all the devices you used to access your account, follow these steps:
-
Step 1
Go to the Twitter website.
-
Step 2
Click “More” on the left sidebar.
-
Step 3
On a menu that will appear, click “Settings and privacy”.
-
Step 4
On Twitter’s Settings page, go to the “Security and account access” tab.
-
Step 5
Choose “App and sessions” on the menu.
-
Step 6
Select “Sessions”.
-
Step 7
Click “Log out of all other sessions”, and when prompted, click “Log out” again.
There you go! You now have logged out of your active sessions on other devices. After this, you can now safely log out of Twitter on your desktop. All of your sessions besides your current one will be logged out. If you want to end the current session on your desktop, too, you can do that by logging out of your Twitter account on your browser.
