How to Make a Playlist on TikTok in 3 Easy Steps!

Creating playlists allows you to organize videos or music into a playable list so that your audience can watch or enjoy them more easily. If you have three or more videos that are similar in style, you can put them under one playlist. This way, your subscribers will be able to access other content that is similar to the one they’ve watched or you can arrange them if they’re part of a series.

The TikTok playlist feature is quite similar. Whereas before people are only allowed to view content on the videos tab chronologically, now, as the creator, you can sort them into playlists that you and other people can enjoy. What is the Creator Playlist on TikTok?

The Creator Playlist on TikTok is a lot similar to the kind of playlists you see on YouTube channels. By putting your videos into separate categories, a.k.a. playlists, you easily help your audience watch relevant videos in your account. For example, you want to make separate playlists for your dance videos, funny content, or your favorite ones. This can be done easily by creating a playlist on TikTok.

Creator playlists can be found under your videos tab. As an example, here’s the official account of TikTok with their playlists feature:

With this feature, you can sort videos in any way you like. Do note, though, that only public videos are allowed to be included in a playlist. If you have a private video that you want to add to a playlist, TikTok won’t allow you to do it. Also, a video can only be added to a TikTok playlist one at a time.

Using a TikTok playlist is quite easy. Creating a new playlist as well as adding TikTok videos can be done quickly with a few steps.

To create a playlist, you can do either of the two methods below:

Method 1:

1. Step 1

   Open TikTok, and go to your profile page by tapping the person icon button.

2. Step 2

   Under the video tab, you can see the option to Sort videos into playlists and select that.

3. Step 3

   Follow the on-screen instructions and name your playlist. Your playlist has been created!

Method 2:

You can also create a playlist by starting with a video you wish to add to a new one. Follow these steps:

1. Step 1

   Open the TikTok video you want to add to a playlist.

2. Step 2

   Select the share icon which you can see on the right side of the screen. Alternatively, you can also long-press the screen.

3. Step 3

   Select Add to playlist and then create a playlist.

4. Step 4

   Give your playlist a name. You can add videos to it by doing the same steps discussed above.

To add videos to an existing TikTok playlist, you can also do either of the following:

On the playback page:

1. Step 1

   Go to the video you want to add to a playlist.

2. Step 2

   Tap the share icon on the right side of the screen. Alternatively, you can also long-press the screen.

3. Step 3

   Select Add to playlist.

4. Step 4

   Choose the playlist you want to add it to.

On the post page:

You can also add videos to a playlist before you even upload it. Keep in mind though that this is only applicable for accounts that have at least one existing playlist. Create a playlist first before you upload videos, so you won’t be going back and forth.

Follow these steps to add a new video directly to a playlist:

1. Step 1

   Tap Add to playlist on the post page.

2. Step 2

   Select the playlist you want to add it to.

3. Step 3

   Upload your video.

And you’re done! Creating new playlists and adding video clips to them is fairly simple. Although there are drawbacks such as you can’t put a video into two or more different playlists, but still it can give your followers a better viewing experience if have a playlist they can watch.

Who Can Create TikTok Playlists?

As of the moment, only a limited number of people can create TikTok playlists. TikTok usually sends an invitation to influencers to use the feature and it’s not yet open to everyone. Besides that, TikTok creator playlists are only available to selected regions.

To remove videos from your TikTok playlist, follow these steps:

1. Step 1

   Go to the video you want to remove.

2. Step 2

   Press the share icon on the right side of the screen. You can also do a long-press.

3. Step 3

   Choose Remove from the playlist.

You can also edit your playlist, change its name, or delete it altogether. If you choose Edit playlist, you can remove or add videos and re-order videos in any way you like. By default, your videos are arranged chronologically in the playlist. Through editing them, you can sort them by relevancy or put a favorite as the first video in the playlist.
