How to See When You Subscribed to a YouTube Channel

You may start wondering, how, why, when did you even start following these people? How do you know the exact date you subscribed to a particular YouTube channel? Is that even possible?

With the YouTube app or site, you can only go as far as knowing what channels you’ve subscribed to. But if you’re itching to know your YouTube subscription history and the date you began following them, you need to use a third-party tool to do that.

You can both do this on your desktop and mobile. Simply follow these steps:

1. Step 1

   Go to YouTube and log in to your account. Once you’ve done that, click your channel’s profile picture on the top right side of the screen.

   Copy your channel URL in the address bar.

   

   On mobile, you can find your channel URL by opening the YouTube app. Then, go to your channel. Once you’re on your YouTube channel, tap the three dots on the top right corner of the screen and press Share. A pop-up menu will appear and find the Copy link in the selection. Your channel’s link is now copied to your clipboard.

3. Step 3

   Open a new tab or go to your phone’s browser, and then head over to xxluke.de. If you choose to type it in the search bar, you might be redirected to another website, so make sure that the xxluke.de is followed by /subscription-history/. You will know you’re on the right website if you see this:

   

   Paste the link of your YouTube channel URL on the website and hit Continue.

4. Step 4

   xxluke.de will process the information and it will show you your subscription list, along with the dates you began following them:

Making your subscriptions public will allow xxluke.de to see your subscription history. Upon creating your account, YouTube keeps all your subscriptions private. People won’t be able to see who you subscribed to. But if you want to know your YouTube subscription history, you have to toggle this setting off by doing the following steps:

   Open YouTube and click your profile picture.

If you’re using a mobile device, you can turn this setting off by going to your YouTube channel. Below your banner, you can see the Edit channel option. Tap that and you will be redirected to the page where you can make your subscriptions visible and invisible, the same as the ones above.

Once you’re done, you can redo the same steps above to turn on the setting again so people won’t be able to see whom you subscribed to. This setting won’t affect your subscription list of course and you can still see the list of channels you followed on the subscription list, which you can find on the sidebar of YouTube’s homepage.

He revealed that while there’s no easy way to find that information through YouTube itself, developers can have access to that by using an API that returns all the list of your subscriptions and the date along with it.
