You may start wondering, how, why, when did you even start following these people? How do you know the exact date you subscribed to a particular YouTube channel? Is that even possible?
With the YouTube app or site, you can only go as far as knowing what channels you’ve subscribed to. But if you’re itching to know your YouTube subscription history and the date you began following them, you need to use a third-party tool to do that.
Read on to know how to see when you subscribed to all the channels in your subscription list.
How to Find Out When You Subbed to a YouTube Channel
As of the moment, YouTube has no option in its settings to see your subscription history, complete with the date you started following the channel.
To find out your subscription history, you can use a website called xxluke.de. It allows you to see all the channels you’ve subscribed to, along with the date you hit that subscribe button.
You can both do this on your desktop and mobile. Simply follow these steps:
-
Step 1
Go to YouTube and log in to your account. Once you’ve done that, click your channel’s profile picture on the top right side of the screen.
-
Step 2
Copy your channel URL in the address bar.
On mobile, you can find your channel URL by opening the YouTube app. Then, go to your channel. Once you’re on your YouTube channel, tap the three dots on the top right corner of the screen and press Share. A pop-up menu will appear and find the Copy link in the selection. Your channel’s link is now copied to your clipboard.
-
Step 3
Open a new tab or go to your phone’s browser, and then head over to xxluke.de. If you choose to type it in the search bar, you might be redirected to another website, so make sure that the xxluke.de is followed by /subscription-history/. You will know you’re on the right website if you see this:
Paste the link of your YouTube channel URL on the website and hit Continue.
-
Step 4
xxluke.de will process the information and it will show you your subscription list, along with the dates you began following them:
This tool will show you the list of all the channels you’ve subscribed to since you created your account. It’s usually arranged in a descending order, which means you’re going to see the latest channels you followed.
It’s easy, fast, and doesn’t cost you anything. There are other ways to see your subscription list, but it can be tricky to do it and requires some programming skills. With xxluke.de, you can get your subscription history in a matter of seconds.
How to Change Your Subscriptions From Private to Public
You’ve tried copying and pasting your link on xxluke.de but you got this message instead:
In this case, you may have forgotten to make your subscriptions public.
Making your subscriptions public will allow xxluke.de to see your subscription history. Upon creating your account, YouTube keeps all your subscriptions private. People won’t be able to see who you subscribed to. But if you want to know your YouTube subscription history, you have to toggle this setting off by doing the following steps:
-
Step 1
Open YouTube and click your profile picture.
-
Step 2
On the dropdown menu, select Settings.
-
Step 3
You will be redirected to YouTube settings. On the left side menu, click Privacy.
-
Step 4
Toggle the option Keep all my subscriptions private and turn it off. Wait for YouTube to confirm that your settings have been saved and then you can go back to xxluke.com to try looking for your subscription history again.
If you’re using a mobile device, you can turn this setting off by going to your YouTube channel. Below your banner, you can see the Edit channel option. Tap that and you will be redirected to the page where you can make your subscriptions visible and invisible, the same as the ones above.
Once you’re done, you can redo the same steps above to turn on the setting again so people won’t be able to see whom you subscribed to. This setting won’t affect your subscription list of course and you can still see the list of channels you followed on the subscription list, which you can find on the sidebar of YouTube’s homepage.
What is xxluke.de?
xxluke.de is a free online website that lets you check all the videos you subscribed to using your YouTube channel. Conrad Totzek, the person behind the page, wanted to find how long has he been subscribing to a channel and also find out his first subscription.
He revealed that while there’s no easy way to find that information through YouTube itself, developers can have access to that by using an API that returns all the list of your subscriptions and the date along with it. Using the page, anyone can now easily find out when they subscribed to YouTube channels since they joined the video-sharing platform.
Is xxluke.de safe?
Yes, xxluke.de is safe. It has a valid SSL certificate which means the website is secure and won’t steal or misuse your data.
Websites that check for malicious pages on the internet also assure that xxluke.de is safe because so far, no one has made a complaint against it yet. So far, too, you’re only going to provide it a link to your channel and your subscribed channels list is public, so it doesn’t have a way to hack your YouTube account. Also, the website is clean. It’s free of ads, pop-ups and doesn’t even require you to log in.
Bonus Tip: If you want to know if a particular page or website has an active SSL certificate, simply click the lock icon beside the address bar. If it says the connection is secure, then the website is most likely safe. You can also check other connection details by clicking that option in the dropdown menu, such as the certificate information and the date of its validity.
