• With your tweets protected, people will need to send a follow request to you. If you accept the request, they will only see what’s on your Twitter profile page.

You can change to a private account on a desktop browser. You have to log in to your Twitter account and proceed to the account settings page. For the specifics, check out the instructions below.

If you want to return to having a public account, you simply have to unprotect your tweets. This means that your following tweets will be posted publicly. Twitter users that do not follow you will be able to see your tweet.
